Demonstration video of a computer interface using video cameras and projectors, where users merely point with fingers and use tokens to perform image manipulation, text editing, etc. Essentially, a highly advanced whiteboard system with a tangible interface.
This reminds me of some work Sony has been doing.
There’s a ton of these types of things being created around this technology. Some are slowly making their way out of the academic realm and into ‘real world’ business applications such as furniture, entertainment and exhibit design. Most of them use proprietary methods and code; however, Chris O’Shea is working on making an open source option:
