Panel Discussion “It Might Blow Up, But It Won’t Go Pop” on Thursday, April 5th at 7pm.

It might blow up, but it won't go pop.

This event is free and open to the public.

Panelists will discuss how the commercialization of Hip Hop Culture has impacted mass media, marketing, art, and critical review, as well as hip hop’s evolving effects on society.

Panelists include:
Fahamu Pecou, Visual Artist
9th Wonder, Acclaimed Hip Hop Producer of Mary J. Blige, Jay Z, and Little Brother
Howard L. Craft, Playwright/Educator
Ed Garnes, Founder of From Afros to Shelltos
Carlton Hargro, Editor, Creative Loafing, Charlotte
Chuck Johnson, VP Northstar Broadcasting

Moderated by Renee Alexander Craft, Poet / UNC Postdoctoral Fellow.

Flanders Art Gallery will be open this First Friday from 6pm-8:30pm. This will be the final week to see the fresh Neo-Pop series, “Hustle & Show” by Fahamu Pecou.
